Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative Marketing Manager to join our nonprofit organization. This role will be the key liaison between our organization and our contracted marketing agency, ensuring seamless execution of our marketing strategy. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a strong understanding of marketing principles, excellent communication skills, a willingness to dig in and do the work and a passion for our mission.
This position will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and our marketing agency to implement comprehensive marketing plans. The Marketing Manager will focus on internal marketing execution, content creation, community engagement and supporting fundraising and educational leadership initiatives.
Key Job Responsibilities
Internal Marketing Execution:
- Gather and curate day-to-day content, including NMOH speaking engagements, smaller events, education programming as well as fundraising opportunities and events. Write and post blog articles and create engaging newsletters.
- Actively engage with our online community and board members, respond to inquiries and foster positive relationships.
- Maintain and update the website, including adding new content, board member information, and event details.
- Execute and maintain the ambassador program, building on the foundation established by the agency and updating the strategy as the organization grows.
Collaboration and Agency Partnership:
- Act as the primary point of contact and liaison between the organization and any third-party agencies and/or vendors.
- Collaborate with third-party agencies and/or vendors to ensure alignment of strategy, messaging, and brand consistency.
- Provide timely feedback and approvals on materials and campaigns developed by third-party agencies and/or vendors.
- Participate in regular meetings with third-party agencies and/or vendors to review progress, discuss strategy, and address any challenges.
- Updating senior leadership on the progress of all marketing activities and reporting on the results of campaigns.
- Coordinate with the board and board committees to produce and lead the effective execution of collaborative strategies.
- Analyze data to evaluate the success of our marketing efforts and come up with new ideas to improve brand marketing and exposure.
Fundraising and Educational Leadership Support:
- Lead all fundraising marketing efforts, collaborating with third party agencies and vendors on branding and collateral development.
- Support the marketing needs of educational leadership programs, working with the agency on branding and collateral.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze marketing performance, providing regular reports to the CEO and third-party agencies and vendors.
- Stay up-to-date on marketing trends and best practices.
- Manage marketing budgets and resources effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and content marketing.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Experience working with marketing for nonprofits.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
- Budget-management skills and proficiency.
- Come from a variety of academic backgrounds, including marketing, communication, and nonprofit.

Hours of Work
- This is an exempt position and paid on a salary basis.
- The hours of work for this position are: Full-time, 9am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday.
