Joe Waring is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of EP Group, where he leads the firm in acquiring and building out new platforms.  He directly oversees the company’s investment in Veterans Help Group, a leading team of accredited advocates representing veterans in the disability compensation process.

Waring previously served as the Chief Financial Officer for Evening Post Industries until its restructuring in 2021. While at Evening Post Industries, he worked on numerous acquisitions and divestitures in broadcast television, hospice care, marketing services and disability advocacy.  The most notable deals were the sale of 15 broadcast T.V. stations by Cordillera Communications to E.W. Scripps for $521 million in 2019 and the sale of 16 hospice locations under the Heart of Hospice brand to LHC Group in 2021.

Before joining Evening Post Industries in 2013, Waring spent 8 years at HSBC Group in Chicago, New York, and London working in corporate strategy roles.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Waring also holds a Juris Doctorate and an International Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.

Waring has the pleasure of serving on various non-profit boards.  He is Chairman of Be A Mentor, is past Chairman of the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired S.C., is on the Board of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, and on the Board of Society of International Business (SIBF) Fellows.  He previously served on the Board of the Charleston Animal Society and was a previous Treasurer of the Post and Courier Foundation  He is a proud Liberty Fellow and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.

Waring is a native Charlestonian.  He and his wife, Silvia, are devoted to their three children.
