Sarah Cherne has an extensive background in business development and entrepreneurial, visionary leadership. She is the founder and CEO of Cold Mountain Solutions; a consulting company focusing on helping transform organizations with a desire to grow or overcome challenges. Recently retired from her last role as Chief Executive Officer Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas, she has spent over twenty years leading three nationally known non-profit organizations, casting positive organizational change, and generating $35M+ in investments to support youth initiatives. Widely respected as an ardent strategic leader by her professional connections in the non-profit, corporate, and civic arenas, Sarah evaluates obstacles, delivers results, and creates practical pathways to transform organizations.
Sarah and her husband Damon have two boys and live in Charlotte, North Carolina. She enjoys being with her family and spending time outdoors. Sarah is an avid exerciser and loves to run, bike, hike, and ski. She and her husband travel extensively and have been blessed to see, hike, and ski many mountains in various countries across the globe.
She earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Southern Maine and a master’s degree from the University of South Florida.
She has served on a variety of boards in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County (North Carolina), including time as chair of the City of Charlotte Privatizations/Competition Advisory Board and the North Carolina Financial Literacy Council.
She has been recognized by the Charlotte Business Journal with its Most Admired CEO Award and its Women in Business Award.
