I am pleased to announce today the renaming of our organization National Medal of Honor Center for Leadership. We believe the new name and our new logo provide greater clarity and an elevated sense of our mission – which is to be a national voice, educator and advocate for values-based leadership centered on the core values of the Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest award for military valor.
By highlighting the virtues of Courage, Integrity, Commitment, Sacrifice, Citizenship and Patriotism, the National Medal of Honor Center for Leadership seeks to inspire transformational change. Our new name emphasizes this focus and our role in ensuring that the essence of true American leadership is accessible and relatable to all people across the nation.
We believe that by drawing on the rich legacy of Medal of Honor recipients, we can equip current and future generations with the leadership qualities necessary to uphold and advance the best traditions of what it means to be an American.
This will be accomplished in several ways. We are currently developing a $75 million, 50,000-foot conference center and immersive experience at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, S.C. The facility will host corporate and nonprofit organizations for leadership education programs built around the Medal of Honor values. Part of the building will also serve as an education laboratory featuring a curated, immersive and multimedia visitor experience emphasizing what unites America.
In addition, we will continue to host seminars on values-based leadership at top educational institutions and in communities throughout the country. Our expanded vision includes a robust digital educational platform that will allow us to reach a wider audience and provide valuable learning experiences regardless of location.
We are excited to embark on this new chapter, deepening our impact and continuing to honor the spirit of true American heroes. Join us in embracing the National Medal of Honor Center for Leadership as we forge ahead, united in our mission to inspire and prepare leaders for tomorrow. Let’s meet the moment!
